The North American Water Garden
Society is a non-profit organization of Pond Lovers dedicated
to the enjoyment, education, promotion, and protection of the
water garden hobby. The North American Water Garden Society
of Door County holds meetings several times a year that unite
pond lovers & provide
a common forum in which to discuss & promote the enjoyment,
education, & protection of the water garden hobby.
Attendees
will feel informed, educated & inspired by the solid, hands-on
information. Together, they will nurture their passion for
ponds & water gardening by sharing their time & talents.
In the
summer, meetings are held at various people's water gardens. Most meetings
have a theme, or topic.
Themes from past summers included, Aquatic
Plants, Leaf Casting, Tropical Tour, Friends & Flowers, & Mardi
Gras.
. 
On the National level, NAWGS has raised
over $50,000 for koi herpes virus research (a virus that
can quickly wipe out a
whole pond of koi), at the University of Georgia - the largest
lump sum of money raised for this cause, & took on Pond
Tour North America featuring over 70 tour locations in 27 states & 2
Canadian Provinces.
Whether you are an experienced water
garden hobbyist, or just interested in "getting your feet wet",
come join us. You'll be glad you did!
