Wow
is it ever hot out there! It's not shocking that in these
dog days of summer, pool stores are chomping at the bit to get
customers
in the doors. Prices are slashed and you can own your own inflatable
pool for half the price of the early spring "sales." And
while I'm all up for a pool party every once in a while, I'd
rather have a pond party in my own backyard. Why? Good question.
I'd like to share with you the Top 10 reasons why I think owning
a pond is better than owning a pool.
10. Ponds are always "in-season." You
never have to shut them down if it gets too chilly outside. If
winter hits, you
can enjoy it from your living room, looking at beautiful formations
around the waterfall.
9. I savor the pleasant smell of my ponds. I don't have to smell
pool chemicals everyday of the week or tinker with chemicals at
all since I have an all-natural, ecosystem pond.
8. My pond is my own backyard habitat.
I have all kinds of wildlife coming to visit my pond … from
birds, to frogs, and even the occasional deer.
7. I like the way my pond looks. My pond is beautiful year-round,
reflecting the changing of the seasons. A pool looks the same at
all times, only getting a different look when covered.
6. There is nothing like the sounds of nature in your backyard.
Hearing my water flowing and my waterfall crashing down while I
dine by my pond is absolutely wonderful.
5. My pets live in my pond. The fish that call my pond home are
filled with energy and personality. Hardly a day goes by that I
don't stop to visit them and dip my toes in the water for a little
nibble.
4. My pond affords me the chance to expand my gardening knowledge.
The world of aquatic plants is a fun one, filled with many different
choices. You can only expand your knowledge of inflatable rafts
with a pool.
3. Pond-side living is something many people are looking for.
If I ever plan to move away from my pond, I bet it will boost my
resale value. You can't say that about a pool.
2. A simple trip to my pond after a long day's work is certain
to melt the stresses away. I don't even have to put on my swimsuit
and dive in to enjoy it.
And the number one reason I think owning a pond is better than
owning a pool...
1. The combination of ponds and kids are priceless. There's something
new to learn about a pond every day. The facts on H20, insects,
and even the plants will intrigue and inspire children to love
the environment around them!
